Air Force BMT Recruit Graduation

If a Hooah was ever appropriate, now is the time. It’s been more than a year since the U.S. Air Force suspended family attendance at Basic Military Training graduation events at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Effective Nov. 24, Trainees may now invite up to four guests to graduation events. Additionally, the Airman’s Run is now open to guests to view. See the Agenda below for the graduation event line-up. BMT graduations are normally scheduled every Thursday at 10 a.m. Central. Click on the buttons to download graduation details and COVID protocol information. As of Nov. 12, 2021, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland is under Health Protection Condition Bravo with some minor changes to mask wear. For those who are fully vaccinated, masks are no longer required. Unvaccinated personnel must continue to follow the guidance outline in Guidance Memo #61. The COVID protocols outlined in the information on this site will be adhered to in order to maintain a culture of safety and to mitigate risk to the force, risk to the mission, and risk to the community. We continuously evaluate conditions and adjust COVID policy as conditions improve or degrade. Information will be updated if/when conditions change.

Here are some tips:

Dress according to the weather!! & comfy shoes!
Try to arrive to base at least 60 minutes before graduation (Airman’s run) starts, as the base will get very busy, and parking will fill up!
Cameras/phone cameras ARE allowed!
Don’t forget your passes & the original copy of your COVID vaccination! -congratulations/job good posters for your airman are encouraged!
If your airman is vaccinated, check out the river walk! And the yummy restaurants.
