Leslie Hobbs’s daughter is spending her 20th birthday as a recruit at RTC Great Lakes, home of Navy boot camp. There will be no cake, no candles, and no singing of happy birthday. Like most recruit parents, Leslie quickly realizes that “not only is this the first birthday I’m missing with her, but I can’t talk with her for ten weeks!”

Although distance and time may separate the two, it won’t stop Leslie from creating a special memory for her daughter’s birthday. She decided to compose, My Little Girl @2021 to honor the birth and celebrate the woman her daughter has become.
