USMC Recruit Graduation

Semper Fi! MCRD San Diego and Parris Island have started to open up recruit graduations to family members. Recruit graduation is a tradition enjoyed by families and friends. The culmination of weeks of training finally ends and recognizes our newest warfighters.

Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego

MCRD San Diego Recruit graduations are reopened for families and friends. You will need to receive an invitation (ticket) from your recruit in order to attend. Once you receive your ticket please register on EventBright.

The Process: Each Marine will mail graduation entry tickets to the guests they choose and confirm the receipt of the tickets via telephone on training day 54. The guests must register for the graduation using the unique Eventbrite website address located on their ticket. After registration, each guest must present their ticket on graduation day to enter the installation. Each ticket will provide valid entry for (1) guest.

Graduation Day: Each guest will arrive at Gate 5 of MCRD San Diego (W Washington St & Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92110, Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92110), and present their original entry ticket during a vehicle search. Guests may begin arriving at 6:30 a.m., and will enter search lanes that correspond with the LAST NAME of their graduating Marine. Guests must have a temperature below 100 degrees F to enter the installation. Facial coverings will be mandatory while on the installation, and strict social distancing will be expected.

After graduation, new Marines will be granted a period of on-base liberty until 5:00 p.m. to spend time with their families. Services aboard depot will be open, with max capacity restrictions, for guests and new Marines to include: the command Museum, food sales, and retail sales. Guests will depart MCRD San Diego no later than 5:30 p.m. New Marines will continue to go directly to their next duty station at Camp Pendleton without leave. Guests are strongly urged to reconsider attending graduation if they are actively sick with a cough or fever, or have been in contact with a suspected case of COVID-19. We continue to urge precautions to ensure force health protection as vaccinations increase nationwide. Graduation will still be available online. Recruit graduations are scheduled to reopen for a limited amount of guests beginning with Charlie Company on April 22, 2021.

South Carolina Marine Graduates

Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., starting June 17-18, all Family Day activities and Graduation will be accessible to the public.

Visitors to the depot must abide by COVID-19 mitigation measures in place aboard the depot to include: wearing a face mask, social distancing between family groups and adhering to occupancy limits at installations aboard the base. Visitors not abiding by these regulations may be asked to depart the depot.

Visitors are asked to remain at home if they display COVID-19 symptoms or have had close-contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Approved visitors attending graduation acknowledge that they do so at their own risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Approved visitors may start arriving at the depot beginning at 5 a.m. on Friday and must utilize the random vehicle inspection gate to enter the base. Signage will indicate the correct gate to use. Photo identification is required to enter the depot.

Graduations typically occur from 9 .a.m. – 10 a.m. Newly graduated Marines will have base liberty immediately after graduation until 4 p.m. Visitors are required to depart the depot no later than 5 p.m. Marines will continue to ship directly to The School of Infantry until otherwise stated.
