Recruit boot camp is the toughest and most challenging training in the world. And often, the physical and mental challenges overshadow the most important aspect of training – the foundation of leadership. Recruits learn and practice leadership traits that will serve them in the military and their life. I want to share eight Christian leadership attributes that recruits learn and actively engage in during recruit training.
Compassion for Others (Esther)
“Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.” Esther 4:14

Break the Mold (Caleb)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

Sticking up for Others (Moses)
“Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.” Exodus 5:1

Fruitful curiosity (Peter)
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16

Acting under pressure (Rahab)
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

Leading by example (Joshua)
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
